Following the season-opening game at Mitchell, Brownstown Central girls basketball coach Karla Rieckers said she told her team it had several areas that needed improvement.

Some of that emphasis included getting off to a good start. In Saturday’s second game of the season, the Braves did just that by scoring the first 10 points en route to a 62-41 win against Trinity Lutheran.

“We wanted to make sure that when we go into a visiting gym that we want to set the tone early, and I thought we did a really nice job of that,” Rieckers said.
