From a timeout in the second quarter with an 11-point lead in Tuesday’s season-opener, the Brownstown Central boys basketball team went on a pair of runs for a 49-21 advantage against Salem.
The Braves didn’t let up in the second half, outscoring the Lions 27-8 in the third quarter and 14-7 in the fourth for a 90-36 Mid-Southern Conference win.
“For the first 12 minutes of the game or so, I thought we were really stagnant and standing around the 3-point line shooting 3s and not really attacking,” Braves coach Dave Benter said. “Out of that timeout in the second quarter, I thought we played with a lot of energy, and I thought our ball movement and spacing was much better.”
