The two-hour drive back from Jasper on Saturday was tough.
The Brownstown Central volleyball team lost to Bishop Chatard in four sets in the semistate semifinals for the second-straight season. Then, I found out Seymour lost to Cathedral in five sets.
I finally received some uplifting news when I learned Trinity Lutheran won its semifinal match. That night, though, the Cougars weren’t able to earn a repeat trip to the state finals after falling to Loogootee.
Boom, boom, boom. In one day, the final three Jackson County volleyball teams were done. Also, the cross-country season ended with Seymour’s Zoey Johnson finishing 27th out of 195 girls at the state finals.
