Brownstown Central’s volleyball team bounced back from Tuesday’s three-set loss to county rival and Class 4A ninth-ranked Seymour by pulling out a five-set victory Thursday against 2A No. 2 Providence.
The Class 3A No. 4 Braves won, 25-10, 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 21-19.
Braves coach Jennifer Shade said the match didn’t end until 11:30 p.m. That followed the Braves losing the freshman match, which began at 6 p.m., in three sets, and then the junior varsity squad winning in three sets.
In the varsity match, Trinity Booher was the leading server, going 25 of 25 with three aces, and Abbi Shade was the leading hitter, going 55 of 63 with 17 kills. The Braves finished with eight aces and 49 kills.
