Braves place 3rd, Owls 8th in season-opener

One Jackson County golfer began the season by shooting in the 70s in Saturday’s Seymour Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course, while four others shot in the 80s.

Brownstown Central junior Lance Hackman led his team with 83, and junior Levi Sweeney and sophomore Seth Berry had 84s to help the Braves place third out of nine teams with 349.

Seymour senior Dustin Ruddick shot 78, and sophomore Brady Marshall shot 80, but they were the only Owls to break 100. The host team finished with 369 for eighth place.
