When the volleyball sectional pairings were released, Brownstown Central knew it would need to play at least two good teams to win its 17th straight sectional title, including third straight at the Class 3A level.

The Braves defeated Silver Creek in Thursday’s first-round match and then downed Salem 25-7, 25-17, 25-17 in Saturday’s semifinals.

In Saturday’s finals, the Braves went against a taller Madison squad, but once again, they prevailed on their home court with a 25-20, 26-28, 25-20, 25-15 win. That puts them in a one-match regional at No. 10 Batesville at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
