Brothers halt purse snatching



Two young Seymour men jumped to a woman’s call for help and subdued a suspected purse snatcher Sunday night.

A 37-year-old Monroe County man faces a theft charge related to an incident involving a purse snatching reported at 10:43 p.m. in Seymour.

Natividad B. Balderas of Bloomington was arrested after the incident at Walmart Supercenter, 1600 E. Tipton St.

Balderas was caught by two brothers who came to the aid of a woman who was loading groceries into her vehicle when a man grabbed her purse from a shopping cart, according to Seymour Officer Ian McPherson’s report.
