The Seymour High School baseball team finished the year with a 21-5 record and placed second in the Hoosier Hills Conference.
The Owls also advanced to the sectional championship game but lost to Jeffersonville.
Even though there were a number of players on the team deserving of the most valuable player award, junior Zack Brown was the one who walked away with the award on Wednesday night when the team held its awards program in the SHS cafeteria.
Brown played in all 26 games and had 104 plate appearances. He collected 32 hits, 25 runs, six doubles, two triples, three stolen bases, 20 RBIs, 11 strikeouts and eight walks.
