What started as a typically dominant victory turned into a something of a dogfight for Brownstown Central on Friday night.
Taking advantage of Charlestown turnovers, the Braves opened up a 30-6 first-half lead before settling for an uneasy 40-26 Mid-Southern Conference victory.
“A win’s a win,” Braves coach Reed May said. “You’ve got to give (Charlestown) credit. They executed better than us in the second half. Come sectional time, they could be a tough team. I wanted to send a message tonight, but we didn’t.”
