Brownstown Central falls in regular-season finale

Brownstown Central scored first in Thursday’s softball game, but host Floyd Central took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and went on to win 5-2.

Beth Wayman hit a solo home run and a single, and Kourtney Branaman had a double and a single and took the loss in the circle, striking out one, walking one and allowing seven hits.

The Braves (9-12) had six hits but committed three errors.
