BROWNSTOWN
The town attorney raised two issues recently when the Brownstown Town Council continued discussions aimed at establishing a zoning process within town limits.
Currently, zoning issues in and surrounding the county seat are administered by Jackson County government.
Town attorney Joe Markel wants the council to clear up two primary issues before continuing much further with the process.
Those involve a potential two-mile jurisdictional zone outside town limits and a permitting process, both of which Markel said he would discuss with Jackson County Building Commissioner Mike Weir.
