Brownstown adding hour to prepare for state standardized test

The Brownstown school board discussed options, heard concerns from parents, teachers and administrators, and then decided students will make up missed days one hour at a time.

Starting Monday, Brownstown Central Community Schools will add an hour at the end of each school day through May 23 — the original last day of school on the district’s calendar this year.

Trustees made that decision after lengthy discussion Tuesday night aimed at resolving how the district would make up 10 of the 15 days missed this winter.
