Three games is not a typical January for the Brownstown Central boys basketball team. But this winter has been brutal on sports schedules.

Going into Wednesday’s Mid-Southern Conference home game against Austin — which was pushed back a day because of the weather — the Braves had only played three times this month. It was their first game since Jan. 18.

The Braves managed to build a 17-4 lead through one quarter. But visiting Austin won the next two quarters 23-18 to pull within 35-27 going into the fourth.
