The Brownstown Central and Trinity Lutheran boys basketball teams met on the hardwood for the first time Saturday at Brownstown.
The host Braves used several big scoring runs to subdue the Cougars and win on their home floor 83-42.
Both teams began the game fast and furious as the Cougars kept up with the Class 3A No. 8 Braves with Jacob Christopher hitting a 3-pointer to make it 5-3. After the Braves’ Chase Klinge scored, Trinity’s Toby VanLiew made a layup to again pull within two.
