BROWNSTOWN

Town council members agreed to spend $11,500 to begin the process of establishing an ordinance governing land usage in the county seat Wednesday night.

“I think we should start with the first two tasks,” Councilman Ben Lewis said of a proposal by Eric Kelly, a professor at Ball State University in Muncie.

Kelly, a city planner with James Duncan & Associates, is proposing a three-step process to establish a zoning ordinance for the town at a cost of $14,500. The first two tasks have an $11,500 price tag.
