Take away a three-putt here and a three-putt there, and Brownstown Central’s girls golf team could have prevailed Monday on its home course.
But coach Jennifer Schneider said her team had a few extra putts along the way, and visiting Indian Creek was able to claim a 196-200 victory at Hickory Hills Golf Club.
“It’s short game with all of them,” Schneider said. “All of them came in tonight and said, ‘We need to work on short game.’ I said, ‘Well, we do.’ We can practice it every day, but until their confidence gets stronger and they stand up to the ball and actually say to themselves, ‘OK, I’ve got this. I’m going to hit my target.’
