Brownstown hires interim schools chief

Tribune photo by Aaron Piper/ Brownstown Central Community School Corp. interim superintendent Jim Terrell, left, talks with the school's business manager, Harry Rochner, on Monday at the central office. Terrell was hired by the school system until a permanent superintendent can be found.

Brownstown Central’s interim superintendent won’t officially begin work until July 1, but he already knows what he needs to accomplish during his first few days and weeks on the job.

And Jim Terrell, 66, of Bedford, brings along the skills and knowledge to complete those chores for the county’s second-largest school corporation.

Terrell replaces Roger Bane, who retired in May after nine years as superintendent of the district, which has an enrollment of about 1,700.
