BROWNSTOWN

Believe it or not, the Bellarmine University baseball team has its first game of the season Feb. 20. That’s right, in February.

During the winter, Knights recruiting coordinator Brandon Tormoehlen has been staying around the sport by conducting Elite Baseball Training Camps in Indiana and Kentucky. On two recent Sundays, the Brownstown native returned to his roots and led local youth through a variety of skills camps.

“I like getting back up here, especially because it’s where I came from,” said Tormoehlen, a 2002 Brownstown Central High School graduate. “(During the Jan. 28 session) it was a lot of the people that I might have gone to high school with and their sons are starting to come through, and that’s pretty cool.”
