Repairs have been made to a natural gas leak in Brownstown and Midwest Gas Co. is now restoring service to its customers in the affected area.
The line was repaired around 1 p.m., Duane Davis of the Jackson County Emergency Management Office said. Brownstown residents evacuated because of a natual gas leak near the county courthouse Sunday morning were allowed to return to their homes at 12:10 p.m.
That's when Midwest Gas Co. gave the all clear signal, Davis said.
No one was hurt as a result of the leak, which was reported to Brownstown Police Department at 6:20 a.m.
