BROWNSTOWN

This fall was Ryan Franklin’s second straight season holding the No. 1 spot for the Brownstown Central High School boys cross-country team.

He said he worked hard to earn and maintain that position.

“Being up at the top, I just kind of go with the pack and just kind of stay up there,” the Braves senior said of his race strategy. “I knew coming into the conference, North Harrison was going to have a couple of (fast) guys from a meet a couple weeks earlier, so I at least wanted to split them. Everyone else I knew I could beat.”
