Brownstown softball team improves to 2-0


Through six innings of Saturday's game at Southwestern (Hanover), the Brownstown Central softball team led 6-2.

The Braves then scored six more runs in the top of the seventh, while the host Rebels could only score two, and Brownstown moved to 2-0 on the season with a 12-4 win.

Brooke Rogers had a productive day for the Braves, recording two hits — including her second home run of the season — three runs and three RBIs.

Also, Maeleigh Tidd had a single, a double, two RBIs and a run; Lisa Scott had three singles, two RBIs and a run; Beth Wayman had two singles and two runs; and Courtnie Pullen's only hit was a triple.

Braves pitcher Kourtney Branaman improved to 2-0 on the season, striking out six, walking two and giving up six hits.
