Brownstown teen faces gun, drug charges

A 17-year-old Brownstown juvenile faces felony weapon and drug charges after a report of battery on Wednesday, police report.

The incident that led to the arrest of the youth, whose name has not been released, began when Brownstown Police Officer Joe Kelly responded to a report of battery on Spring Street.

According to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Kelly reported he saw two juveniles walking to a residence on Poplar street.

County Officer Rob Henley went to the 500 block of South Poplar Street and found two 17-year-old males, both of whom Henley said smelled of burnt marijuana.
