A 63-year-old rural Seymour man was hospitalized Sunday night after a building under construction fell onto him, police report.

Lt. Andy Wayman with Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said few details were available about the incident that led to William Shafer being taken to Schneck Medical Center by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services personnel.

Wayman said the incident was reported at 8:32 p.m. Sunday during the time a series of thunderstorms passed through the county and that wind may have blown the building upon the man in the Dudleytown area.
