Cancer awareness: Fundraisers hit home for county basketball squads

After Principal David Schill offered a prayer and the national anthem was played, everyone in the Crothersville High School gymnasium sat down.

Schill then announced for anyone who is a cancer survivor or is undergoing cancer treatments to stand up to be recognized.

At that moment, CHS boys basketball coach Greg Kilgore became emotional. He thought of his mother, Barbara Fish, who died of lung cancer in July 2009.
