Tribune photo by Dan Davis/ Following a weight loss, Mandy Otte, left, discovered a pea-sized lump in the left breast that was diagnosed as breast cancer. Faith and her family, including her daught, Erin, and husband, Chris, played important roles in the Hamilton Township woman's recovery.
Mandy Otte wanted to change her diet and improve her health.
Family histories of disease sparked that desire for Mandy and Chris, her husband of 15 years. Her father died of colon cancer when he was 55. Her grandmother died of the same cancer earlier. Chris’ father died of chronic lung disease.
“We didn’t want to go down those paths,” Chris said.
