The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at First Baptist Church, 505 Community Drive, Seymour.
The event, hosted by Compassionate Friends of Southern Indiana in Seymour, unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor the memories of the sons, daughters, brothers, sisters and grandchildren who left too soon, organizers said.
The event is open to the public.
People attending are encouraged to bring a framed photo or something of remembrance of their child to be placed on the remembrance table.
People are encouraged to bring their Compassionate Friends votive cup candle. One will be provided for anyone who does not have one.
People are asked to bring a snack to share with others.
The organization partners with Resolved Through Sharing, a bereavement group from Schneck Medical in Seymour.
