Children in the Brownstown area in need of a mid-day meal this summer will have the opportunity to receive one.
Brownstown Christian Church will participate in the Summer Food Service Program for a third year. The church will host the site at Country Apartments in Brownstown.
The program, sponsored by the Indiana Department of Education, seeks to ensure all children have nutritional meals throughout the year when school lunches and breakfasts are not offered.
Jan Munter, missions team leader with the church, said the congregation decided to host the program after Brownstown Community School Corp. decided it did not have the resources available to sponsor the program again.
