Facility’s $25,000 in fees for new utility not part of 2014 budget

It seems like a lot of money to pay for rain, but Seymour Municipal Airport officials say the city’s new stormwater utility fee won’t cause any funding problems now or in the future.

Airport manager Don Furlow on Monday requested from the city council an additional appropriation of $25,000 from airport funds to pay the monthly charge for the rest of the year.

The council unanimously approved the request on first reading and suspended the rule requiring a second reading.
