NORTH VERNON — A Seymour man is accused of killing his ex-wife and seriously injuring her adult daughter Sunday in a shooting at a Jennings County home.

James “Darrell” Sowder, 62, was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and attempted murder late Sunday shortly after the incident at 1965 Chatsworth Lane in the southwest corner of Country Squire Lakes.

Candice A. Sowder, 64, and her daughter, Regina D. Johnson, 42, both were shot in the head at the home they shared.
