Alana Jacobi stared intently into a pond at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.

The 6-year-old patiently watched her bobber ride the subtle ripple of the water while hanging from the line at the end of her Barbie fishing rod.

Standing next to her grandfather, Berl Grant, Alana insisted she already knew how to fish.
