Close call spurs push for guardrail near Brownstown pond

A speeding, sliding auto prompted a Brownstown Town Council member to recommend installation of a guardrail near a pond in the town park.

Council member Bill Sweeney said the town should consider installing a guardrail at Benton Street where it runs into Bridge Street, which borders the park.

Sweeney said he recently witnessed a motorist — who he said was driving too fast — nearly slide into the pond at the park.
