Columbus Regional Health has been recognized as a Leader in the LGBT Healthcare Equality in the Healthcare Equality Index 2013 report.
The report is an annual survey conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The hospital is just one of three Indiana hospitals, and 464 health care facilities nationwide, to receive the honor.
Health care facilities awarded this designation meet key criteria for equitable care, including nondiscrimination policies for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender patients and employees, a guarantee of equal visitation for same-sex partners and parents, and health education for key staff members.
