Column: Brighten someone’s holiday ... Donate to United Way

Today we celebrate and give thanks for family and relationships, health and fond memories, gifts and good fortune.

Being a Jackson County native, I’m thankful for the 20 United Way agencies that give so much to our county and residents. These agencies provide valuable services to so many, including, but not limited to, meal assistance, youth mentoring, tutoring, pre-school education, after-school programs, and activities and transportation for seniors.

Some of the agencies near to my heart include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Child Care Network and Girls Inc.
