Column: Do not leave protectors defenseless against armed gunmen in schools



Recently, there has been lots of attention regarding the best way to protect our children and educators in a school active shooter scenario. We have learned through Columbine, Virginia Tech and Sandy Hook tragedies that each of these facilities betrayed us with a false sense of security by being designated as “gun-free zones.”

Sadly, we must accept that there are evil people who wish to do inconceivable things.
