Column: Expose toxins by embracing Jesus Christ as your savior

We often use the term detox (detoxification) as it relates to ridding the body of toxins and poisons associated with drug or alcohol use. Did you know that sometimes our soul needs to be detoxified too? To be holy and to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, sometimes our soul needs cleansing.

When we use terms like “heart” and “soul,” we are referring to a person’s whole being or the person himself or herself. Your soul is the real you. Your body is simply the house where your soul resides for a period of time. Whenever you die, your body dies but your soul lives somewhere forever. We are not a body with a soul. We are, in fact, a soul with a body.

Over these next few weeks, I want to invite you to allow the Holy Spirit to shine the light of truth into the darkest corners of your life to bring cleansing, healing, wholeness and spiritual health.
