Column: Humanity’s primary need is for forgiveness, not worldly things

Hebrews 9:27 contains two powerful truths that we are wise to consider. This passage tells us that “man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.”

The Word of God brings us face to face with two huge events that are in everyone’s future: death and judgment. If this is true, and the Bible says that it is, shouldn’t these truths have a significant influence on how you live your life today?

Perhaps it sounds threatening to think that you will one day have to explain what you have done to a holy and perfect God. But for a believer, there is no need to fear. The sin issue has been dealt with through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (see Romans 3:23. 6:23, and Hebrews 9:22).
