Column: Koch brothers’ influence on Pence tax plan bad idea



I was catching up on the weather on an Indianapolis TV station, and the screen went black.

Then, bright green letters and ominous classical music began with a message complimentary of Gov. Mike Pence’s attempts to cut the Indiana state income tax.

Next, bright red letters began a message that was derogatory to Republicans in the Indiana State Legislature because they chose to disagree with Gov. Pence’s attempts to make good on his campaign promises of a 10 percent tax cut (though he did not consult the legislature prior to making those promises).
