Have you made a New Year’s Resolution? Like many, you may try to lose weight, eat healthier, take on a new diet, or exercise more regularly. So how about your daughter? What are her 2014 goals?
Being healthy is always a smart choice. But those of us with girls in our lives may also see the downside of diet talk: girls absorbing all the chatter around weight and appearance to potentially harmful effect. Reinforcing the message that a girl’s greatest worth lies in her appearance can limit her potential to achieve and see her true value.
So perhaps 2014 should be a year not just for self-improvement but also for celebrating our unique strengths.
