Column: Remember that forgiven people forgive

Every one of us has a story of people who have wronged us.

Paul says, you’ve basically got two choices when that happens: “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21) We have one of two choices to make.

Choice 1: Be overcome by evil. The way that you’re overcome by evil, by the evil that they did to you, is to hold the grudge, to lash out, to seek revenge, to try to avenge yourself. You could try that, but you would probably be overcome by evil. It would probably crush you emotionally. It is not worth it. There is a better way.
