Come out and skate to help local park

This Saturday is the inaugural Go Skateboarding Day in Seymour, a fundraiser to expand the city’s skate park.

Organizers said they have planned a fun-filled, family-friendly event that will benefit local youth and pay tribute to the two teenagers after whom the park is named.

From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Shields Park and the Schurman and Grubb Memorial Skate Park will be filled with games and activities, live music, food and plenty of skating.
