Commiskey Fall Festival offers fun-filled weekend



The annual Commiskey Fall Festival will begin at noon Sept. 19 and continue through Sept. 21 in the southern Jennings County community, located off State Road 3.

Sept. 19 activities include redneck Olympics, a peddle tractor pull for children, pumpkin seed spitting, beanbag and hula hoop contests, and a “Duck Dynasty” lookalike contest.

Events Sept. 20 include the parade at 10 a.m., a frog-jumping contest, a wheelbarrow race, crosscut saw and greased pig contests, and a Big wheel and donkey races. High Octane Bluegrass Band will perform at 8 p.m., and activities will draw to a close that day with a jerk-the-rope contest at 9 p.m.
