The gunshot death of a 24-year-old North Vernon man last month in his front yard has been ruled to be self-defense.
Jeremy Moore was killed outside his home Sept. 9 in the middle of the day. Findings by Jennings County Prosecutor Alan Marshall include drugs being found in Moore’s system, including methadone.
Moore and Donald Williams, 57, of Commiskey, the father of Moore’s girlfriend, had argued prior to the shooting.
Williams called 911 and said he had shot Moore twice in the chest in self-defense with a .38-caliber revolver. The prosecutor said no charges would be filed.
