The Seymour High School football players will compete in a spring liftathon at 6 p.m. March 13 in the school's auxiliary gym.
The event is free and open to the public.
Players will be tested in power clean, parallel squat, bench press and hex bar deadlift, along with speed and agility circuits.
"Seymour football players have been working hard since early November in the weight room and in the gym increasing their strength and speed," Owls head coach Josh Shattuck said. "The liftathon will put our kids in front of the community to show off the gains that they have made over the past few months."
There will be an announcer, awards, prizes, concessions and a silent auction.
Football players are collecting donations and pledges for the weight that they lift, and that serves as a fundraiser for the football program.
"Even if you are unable to donate to the program, we highly encourage the public to come out and support our kids and their progress," Shattuck said. "It will be a special night."
