Concerns shaping feeding policy

Jackson County commissioners continue to put together an ordinance regulating the location of confined animal feeding operations in the county.

Commissioners President Jerry Hounshel said a proposed ordinance introduced in early December remains a work in progress and an effort to find a middle ground between farmers and other property owners.

Concerns from both are helping shape the ordinance, he added.
