Concussions in youth sports subject of seminar

Parents and coaches of youth sports programs are invited to attend Concussions in Youth Sports: What Every Parent and Coach Needs to Know.

The free program will be at 6:30 p.m. May 28 in the Schneck Auditorium, located just inside the visitor’s entrance at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

A concussion is a brain injury and should be taken seriously to avoid the risk of permanent neurological damage, the hospital said. Concussions are caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head that can change the way the brain normally works.
