County mulls building inspector



BROWNSTOWN

New federal and state energy requirements for the construction of new homes could force Jackson County officials to add at least a part-time building inspector.

The proposal has left some with questions about who can and cannot build a home. Questions about cost also remain unanswered.

“What if I wanted to build my own home?” county councilman Brian Thompson asked county building commissioner Mike Weir during a recent council meeting.
