Cooking class helps diabetics find appetizing alternatives

Living with Type 2 diabetes can make it difficult to cook and plan enticing meals that you and your family can enjoy together.

That’s why Purdue Extension Jackson County is bringing back its incerasingly popular Dining with Diabetes educational program that includes a cooking school in February.

Four different sessions will make up the series and will focus on helping adults with Type 2 diabetes learn the importance of controlling blood sugar and how to feel better and reduce the risk of health complications, said Lauren Neuenschwander, extension educator.
