For the last 23 years, Dave and Chris Boggs have put on a big summer swim meet at Seymour’s Shields Park Pool.

Over the weekend, a record 739 swimmers took part in the Seymour Pepsi Plunge, and Dave Boggs was thrilled with the turnout.

“Countless time and effort goes into something like this,” he said. “We had many meetings with our board and meet committee. Taking care of all the details is what makes this a special meet that it is. It is going as well as it can, and it’s a cool meet.”

On Saturday, a few rumbles of thunder and the sight of an impending storm suspended action just before the finals began, but action got started back up later in the evening.
