Cougars claw past sectional foe on road

Trinity Lutheran's volleyball team claimed a four-set victory on the road Thursday night against sectional foe Springs Valley.

The Cougars won the first set 25-14, but the host Blackhawks came back with a 25-22 win.

Trinity then closed out the match with wins of 25-16 and 25-19 to improve to 5-0.

Liz Hill was the Cougars' top hitter by going 22 of 25 with 11 kills, and Haylee Barker was 14 of 18 with 10 kills.

In serving, Courtney Barker was a perfect 23 of 23 and Sydney Stuckwisch was 20 of 22, and both had three aces.
