Cougars clinch home victory against Rebels

Trinity Lutheran’s volleyball team used strings of points in the middle of all three sets against Southwestern (Hanover) on Monday night to post a 25-14, 25-22, 25-16 win in the Bollinger Athletic Complex.

In the opening set, the Cougars built an 11-4 lead on a kill by Liz Hill, increased its lead to 23-12 and scored set point on a kill by Haylee Barker.

In the second set, Trinity opened up a 17-9 cushion before the Rebels closed to 17-15. Trinity took command at 23-17 on a kill by Hill before the Rebels scored five straight points to pull within one. The Cougars then used a kill by Sydney Stuckwisch and a block by Hill to close the set.
